TO ENTER WITHOUT MAKING A PURCHASE: You may obtain a free Code at www.partagascigarcave.com. To enter, follow the instructions above. Online entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM EST on 7/31/09. Enter as often as you wish, but each essay entered must be substantially different. To enter by mail without a Code, on a piece of 8 1/2” x 11” paper, legibly hand-print or type your essay. On the back of the paper, legibly hand-print or type your name, complete address, daytime phone number and date of birth. Mail your Entry in a standard, #10 business-size envelope to: Partagas “Cigar Cave” Contest, 6240 Oakton Street, Morton Grove, IL 60053. Mailed entries must be postmarked by 7/31/09 and received by 8/10/09. Entrants must be the sole creators of the entries submitted in this Contest. The right to submit or use an entry must not be restricted in any way. Modifying, enhancing or altering a third party’s preexisting work does not qualify as entrant’s original creation. Entry may not include any intellectual property of third parties, including copyrighted or trademarked material. Entry must be suitable for publication at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any entry containing dangerous, obscene, libelous, indecent, violent, sexually explicit, discriminatory or other morally or legally objectionable material, in the opinion of the judges or the Sponsor, will result in disqualification of the corresponding entry and of the entrant who submitted it. Entries may not have won previous awards, may not have been published previously, and the use of the entry by Sponsor as outlined herein must not infringe upon any other person’s rights. Proof of submission does not constitute proof of receipt. Entries must be submitted by an individual, eligible entrant only; no group entries allowed. All entries become the property of Sponsor and none will be returned.

ELIGIBILITY: This Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, who are twenty-one (21) years of age or older and residing in the U.S. at the time of entry . Employees of Sponsor, their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, sales representatives, advertising, promotion and judging agencies and all other service agencies involved with this Contest, and members of the immediate families (parent, child, sibling and spouse) or households (whether or not related) of any of the above are not eligible.

JUDGING: Entries will be judged by a qualified panel of judges, including representatives of the Sponsor, based upon demonstrated need for a makeover (20%), creativity in description of the ideal smoking room (30%), conveyance of the cigar smoking experience (30%) and relevance to Partagas (20%). The decisions of the judges will be final and binding on all matters relating to this Contest. Winner will be determined on or about 8/21/09. In the event of a tie, the entries involved in the tie will be re-judged by an additional judge who will serve as a tiebreaker and who will evaluate entries according to the criteria listed above.

PRIZE: One (1) Grand Prize: $10,000 gift card (retailer to be determined and at Sponsor’s sole discretion) intended to be used towards the makeover of a cigar lounge. Gift card is redeemable at participating stores and is subject to standard terms and conditions set by the issuer. Approximate retail value (“ARV”): $10,000. Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for any architectural design, construction, or other related services required to accomplish a cigar lounge makeover and will not be a party to any contracts relating to such services.

GENERAL TERMS & CONDITIONS: Potential Winner must execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (where permissible) within seven (7) days of receipt of notification or prize will be forfeited and awarded to the next highest scoring entrant. If any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, prize will be forfeited. Submission of a Contest entry will constitute and signify the entrant’s agreement and consent that the Sponsor and/or the Sponsor’s assignees may use the entry, name, photograph, likeness and/or prize information for promotional purposes in commerce and in all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed without time limitation and without further compensation, except where prohibited. Submission of a Contest entry grants Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the entry in any way, in commerce and in any and all media worldwide now known or hereinafter developed, without time limitation and without further consideration to the entrant. If, for any reason, this Contest is not capable of running as planned by any cause which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, or if due to any technical, production or other error, more prizes are claimed or awarded than are described in these Official Rules, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend this Contest and determine the winner from entries received prior to action taken, or as otherwise deemed fair and equitable by Sponsor. No more than one (1) prize, as stated in these Official Rules, will be awarded. Neither Sponsor nor its agencies are responsible for lost, late, stolen, illegible, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, postage-due or non-delivered entries; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), Website or other connections availability, accessibility or traffic congestion, or miscommunications, or failed computer, network, telephone, satellite, or cable hardware, software or lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network, or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information.
